Gallbladder Surgery & Removal for Gallstones

Gallbladder are solid collections of crystallized bile, stored in the gallbladder, and secreted into the intestine through the bile ducts to help digest fats.
They can cause a blockage within the bile duct or gallbladder, resulting in pain and inflammation, called cholecystitis.

Ultrasounds of the abdomen are used, which provide valuable information about gallstones, such as location, size, and the effect on organ function. Some types of tests that may be required are:

Abdominal ultrasound: Ultrasound produces images of the gallbladder and bile ducts. Look for signs of inflammation or evidence of a blocked flow of bile. Ultrasound is the most widely used test to evaluate gallbladder abnormalities.

Treatment consists of laparoscopic gallbladder removal with excellent results to improve pain and prevent complications.
